About Just Smile

Just-Smile.org is a website designed to inspire and induce people to smile more. Although making people smile a little doesn’t seem to have a huge effect on the world, it could mean all the difference to that person. The last few years in school, some of my friends have gone through deep stages of depression. A few months ago, one of them told me that I was the reason they pulled through. I spent most of my time making awful jokes, and sounding like an idiot, all to see my friend smile. I would write messages to her, reminding her to smile, telling her how beautiful and amazing she is, and making sure she knew that someone cared about her. I also always smiled at her.

I’ve been told I have a beautiful, cute and whimsical smile. I have a small round(ish) face, and tiny eyes that close whenever I smile, but my smile itself is huge. For some time now, I’m not really sure why, but I always catch myself smiling. Especially when I see a friend who doesn’t look so happy. We’ve all heard that “yawning is contagious”, well I’ve managed to make my smile contagious, and I challenge you to do the same.

We live in a world where all we ever hear about in the news are stories about wars, politics, fights, scandals, and things that aren’t necessarily “nice”. Here we can share our own stories, and appreciate all the little things that happen in our world. All the things that just, make us smile.
